What sets Karibu Consulting apart from other accounting firms?

The founders have a depth of personal and professional experience of living & working in Africa; they have developed an extensive network of like-minded professionals to assist their clients.

Gareth Harrison has been practicing international tax for 25 years and has been a member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Taxation since 2003.

 

Having originally trained and qualified with Arthur Andersen UK, he subsequently worked in the tax functions of three of the UK's largest multinational groups (Diageo, Barclays, AstraZeneca) with a particular focus on taxation in emerging markets. 

In 2012, Gareth moved with his family to Kenya where he spent the following ten years with Airtel Africa as Group Tax Director and PwC as an International Tax and M&A Tax Director. During this time, he travelled extensively throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, working with tax professionals, tax advisors and tax administrators, in both English and French speaking countries.

 

Gareth is passionate about ensuring that multinationals understand and comply with the tax laws in complex, or unfamiliar, operating environments. 

 

Angela has been practising in various complementary health therapies since the late 1990s. During these years, she has qualified in aromatherapy, massage, hypnotherapy, hypnobirthing, mindfulness and meditation. She is a Reiki Master and a qualified hatha & yin yoga teacher.

 

While moving between the UK and Kenya, she has completed various counselling qualifications, which culminated in publishing academic research into the psychological impact on women of relocation to Kenya from Europe & the US.


As an UK qualified Primary school  teacher, certified hypnotherapist, mindfulness and meditation teacher and holistic therapist,  Angela has taught and volunteered in various schools, helping children with anxiety and attention related issues. These have been the main focus  of her private practice. 


Angela is passionate about bringing a holistic range of solutions and therapies to her clients with a large toolbox of interventions,  be they businesses, schools, adults and children.
